SPAK comes out with a new version: We have a former minister under investigation and not a minister!
The Special Prosecution Office seems to have “shook its head” in the face of Edi Rama and his government. In early June, “ Pamfleti ” was the first to report that SPAK had put a minister of the “Rama” government under investigation. The news was based on data published by SPAK in the transparency register and it was about data from April, but which was published in June.
The news spread and everyone in the SP and not only was alarmed. Some media close to the majority tried to deny it by saying that it was about a former minister (Arben Ahmetaj) and not a minister. On the other hand, there was talk of Arbjan Mazniku, who had a file in the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for abuses when he was at the Municipality of Tirana, but who was transferred to SPAK.
But SPAK seems to have changed its mind. The Special Prosecution Office has published the transparency register for the months of May and June. A citizen has again requested the same information by asking: " Is there a minister or more than one minister under investigation? If so, for what criminal offense and can you tell the name/s? ".
But SPAK's response this time was different: " In the register of Criminal Offenses, in the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime, there is only one former minister under investigation, registered with the initials AA. The criminal offenses for which he is accused are: Money laundering, concealment of assets and passive corruption ."
So it seems clear that SPAK has changed its stance and in its response it is referring to former minister Arben Ahmetaj, while confirming on the other hand that there is no minister under investigation.
But here some questions arise:
Why did SPAK first declare that there was a minister under investigation and now declare that there is a former minister under investigation? How is it possible that the answer now is the same as what the media brought out near the government? Was Altin Dumani scared after Rama's attacks or the victory with 83 mandates in the elections? It seems clear that after the PS's landslide victory, SPAK has weakened the blow in the fight against corruption. And the fact that it has now changed the plaque for the minister shows that the prosecution is kneeling before the government. /Pamphlet
