A serious provocation has occurred in the city of Prizren, where the statue of National Hero Gjergj Kastrioti 'Skënderbeg' was covered with a Kurban Bayram banner.
The banner was not placed by isolated individuals or groups, but by the Islamic Community of Kosovo itself.
It is written in three languages: Albanian, Serbian and Turkish, and placed in the city center, which has made this gesture perceived as a pure provocation.
Publicist and writer Pal Shtufi emphasizes that every limit has been crossed.
"WHY? I don't understand why the Islamic Community must try to present Islam as an anti-Albanian religion. They try so hard to convince us that Islam and Albanian identity don't go together. Why?
Why should one cover the other, instead of standing alongside each other?
Why didn't BIK place this festive Eid banner on the side, on one of Skanderbeg's arms, but right above his face?
"I don't understand all this enthusiasm to prove to us that Islam and BIK are against Skanderbeg, whom even the Turks themselves respect. I think Naim Tërnava should know that these provocative actions are counterproductive even for the very religion he represents. Why, Naim?", writes Shtufi.
It seems clear that these repeated actions are not simply the aberrations of a few fanatical or indoctrinated imams.
They are part of a studied course of action and attitude by a religious institution, which is violating the constitutional spirit and is consciously sowing division.
On every occasion of religious celebrations, instead of the atmosphere of prayer and joy dominating, the most important national figures are symbolically attacked.
Gjergj Kastrioti 'Skënderbeu', Mother Teresa or the Albanian Renaissance people have repeatedly become symbolic targets.
All of this is not simply related to folklorism or religious polarization, but to a clear attempt to attack the European identity of Albanians.
It is interesting how much is invested in this propaganda: books are printed, portals and media are funded, but the discourse is failing to take root, especially among the younger generation.
Not only among young people, who are generally secular and distanced from religious practices, but also among practicing Muslims themselves.
A knowledgeable person familiar with the religious practices in Tirana, himself a practicing believer, who preferred not to be identified, emphasizes that most believers avoid mosques and premises that have been converted into political headquarters.
According to him, gravitational centers of Turkish, Arab, and even Western secret services, operating for surveillance and influence, have gathered in Tirana's main mosques.
As a result, a significant part of the public discourse there is built on provocation and reaction.
Which means that even Muslim practitioners themselves do not support this anti-European and anti-identity discourse towards Albanians.

Bashkohem me kete shqetesim qytetar, qe pankarta e festes se Bajramit te vendoset ne ate menyre. Çfare ben Komuna e Prizrenit, ajo e ka detyrim administrimin e territorit te saj. Cdo gje pa leje, reklama, afishime etj duhet te vendosen me leje, ne vendet e duhura, ne te kundert ato duhet te hiqen. Ky eshte detyrim per shtetin dhe respekt per shqiptarizmen.
