In January 2023, SPAK created a special section to investigate corruption and track the assets of politicians and government officials. A sacred step of the law that sparked panic among the three "rulers" of Albanian politics: Sali Berisha, Ilir Meta and Edi Rama.
Berisha and Meta reacted after investigations were launched for corruption, money laundering and illegal assets, ending up one under house arrest and the other in prison. Rama, exposed and charged with concealing assets, rushed to SPAK, knowing that he would be subject to a similar criminal fate as his two predecessors.
Although the attacks appear to be separate, the reality shows silent cooperation: three decades in power, three "crooks" who control the parliament, the government, the judiciary, the police, the army, the budget, the ports, the concessions, the oligarchs and the mafia structures. An alliance that works to protect their power and wealth by any means.
Berisha's house arrest and Meta's imprisonment are clear warnings to Rama. His panic became apparent on February 12, 2025, when he threatened SPAK leader Altin Duman, telling him not to dare ask for his phone, a signal of deep fear of justice.
The alliance of the three "scoundrels" also appeared with the parliamentary commission "Xhafaj", an instrument of pressure on SPAK, with the aim of dissolving it or forcing the institution into submission. Rama's fear has reached the point of attacks on ordinary judges and prosecutors: two judges in Tirana and a prosecutor in Shkodra within a month are his targets.
While Berisha and Meta publicly attack SPAK, Rama warns of the actions of the anti-SPAK commission and attacks on the ordinary judiciary. A combination of panic, arrogance and fear that shows that political power in Albania has turned into an open mafia, where justice and citizens are the next victims.
In this dark game of power, the three political "scumbags" try to save themselves and their wealth, while SPAK stands alone, facing a machine that has controlled Albania for three decades.
