What, apart from ethnicity, do Aleksandar Vucic and Edi Rama have in common? Ethnicity makes a difference, no one discusses this. But in international politics ethnicity does not make any difference to be. Today's world has transcended ethnicity, nation, tribes. Peoples are now aligned according to cultures and interests.
An Arab billionaire, for example, has no problem cooperating with Ed and Alexander at the same time. "Beograd na Vodi" (or "Belgrade Waterfront") is a mega project that captures the amount of 3.5 billion dollars, or the development project of the Port of Durres, for elite tourism, worth 2 billion dollars, both of these investments come from another country, continent, culture and religion.
But differences are an opportunity, not an obstacle, for the global mindset. Serbia has no sea, but it has the Danube, one of the largest on the continent, which is also navigable to the Black Sea. On the banks of this river, the largest project in today's Serbia has been developed.
Albania does not have the Danube, nor the large hydropower plants on the Danube, but it has the sea, the Vjosa, the mountains, the plains, it also has Ed, open for business with anyone who opens their wallet.
So, in the business world, cultures also cross paths. Serbia leaves MIG planes, obsolete, and orders 12 French "Rafal" planes, worth 3 billion dollars. It makes projects for a large subway with the Chinese, including French businesses. He goes to visit Macron, on the anniversary of the "D" day, but before that he meets the businesses and rotates the billions. Political power today means billions that you are able to circulate.
But someone has neither a sea nor a river of continental size, but has a role in business routes. We are talking about Kosovo. And what does Albini do here, you say? Do you think that the "troika" cannot function without the third former political brother, who started the great game of borders?
And why doesn't it work? Someone has to challenge the game to increase international interest. If we could get along easily, they would say "we have no business there, share the cake yourself". Of course, their share of the cake would also be divided, but why fight... when there is no interest.
So others create mega projects while Edi and Aleksandri create and maintain...the abyss. The abyss is business. Nowadays problems are business. Do you have a problem? Well, open a tender...spend public money!
Even though the peoples shout louder, every time Edi and Aleksandri approach the abyss, they do not fall. When they want to fall to the east, they keep to the west, when there is a danger of falling to the west, they keep to the east. The question is, who taught the game to whom? Eddie, Alexander or was it the other way around? The difference between cunning in Serbian and Albanian politics is only in the result. The Serbs always managed to negotiate well with us, for our lands. And who do you care about the lands today? The man of the world comes from the bottom and buys you the "long meadow", which he then rents out to graze your sheep. Well, they say politics.
Usually, the abyss is crossed with one step, but these are crossing it, without hurrying at all, step by step. Russia says "it is with us", Macron says it is with Europe. History says that Serbia is neither with Europe nor with Asia, but throughout history it has benefited from this role. On this logic, between east and west once built the medieval empire. They still bargain with the loot of that time.
Why, if the idea is not captured, the metaphor must be discarded. Perhaps there is no abyss at all. Located between Europe and Asia, Serbia, with its mindset and interests, has set some conditions to pass and stay on one side or the other. By declaring friendship with Russia, he is getting favors from the West. More or less similar in tactics to Rama's orientation, towards the west. Besides, he gets favors from the east, south east, more precisely. The geopolitics of the Western Balkans is clear as soon as you see the map, the roads, infrastructure lines, the array of national, religious, cultural colors.
Vucic, especially after the last elections, is becoming the leader of the Serbs, wherever they are, just as Rama will probably become.
There's just one problem. Is it worth it, Eddie? VLEN is the name of the alternative, Albanian coalition in North Macedonia. Follow a little, maybe this is where the rabbit is hiding! Edi used to call Aleksandri brother while Hashimi was called friend. Now he calls Aleksandr a friend, while Albini...? He still hasn't named it!/ Pamphlet
