An autocrat on Pennsylvania Avenue
Donald Trump /

From the Rose Garden to the Epstein dossier, from the ban on mail-in voting to the use of the National Guard; Donald Trump, a state within a state and no one is stopping him...

In an America where once upon a time presidents bowed to the constitution, today a man rules who publicly says: "I have the right to do whatever I want. I am the president of the United States." And unfortunately, he does.

Donald Trump is no longer just a polarizing political figure, he has become an authoritarian phenomenon, and with each passing day, he resembles less and less an elected leader.

All this, while decorating the White House with multi-million dollar balconies, trampling on symbols like the Rose Garden, and deciding to bring armed troops to the streets of Washington DC like in a Latin American military regime of the 1970s.

But beyond the aesthetic facade that masks the thirst for unlimited power, a dark battle is playing out behind the scenes.

The famous Epstein dossier, which weighs heavily on many high-ranking figures, has returned to the spotlight not for justice, but for manipulation.

Trump's deputy attorney general personally visits Ghislaine Maxwell in prison, her exonerating testimony is released, and she is then transferred to a more "gentle" prison, as if in a silent agreement, where justice is no longer blind or independent, but an instrument in the hands of power. This is more than institutional corruption, it is proof that Trump no longer aims simply to survive politically, but to clean up his past and secure his future at any cost.

In the face of this, the Democratic Party is finally showing signs of life.

Gavin Newsom and JB Pritzker are trying to stop the total collapse, publicly challenging Trump and resisting his plan to federalize the police, send troops to “Democratic” cities, and ban mail-in voting.

But the problem is that, even if Democrats protest, they do not have the power to stop a president who controls key mechanisms of the state; the judiciary, the military, and the public narrative through social networks and media outlets that he controls.

Trump has turned every crisis into an opportunity to extend his power: declaring emergency aid to block Congress, threatening a government shutdown if his budget is not approved, and accusing Obama of national treason without any evidence.

In any other country, this would be defined as dictatorial behavior. But in America, a polarized media and an electorate weary of political warfare continue to accept this as “tough politics.”

On the horizon, another showdown is looming: the 2026 election. Trump is already preparing to challenge any outcome that doesn’t suit him. He is planning an executive order to ban mail-in voting and force physical voter identification; a blatant violation of federal powers. It’s the same scenario that played out in 2020, but this time with more power and less opposition from the Republicans who once rejected him. Now, many of them are either silent or active collaborators.

What is happening in America today is not simply a political crisis, it is a complete transformation of the democratic order into a personalist regime, where force, fear, and manipulation replace consensus, law, and transparency.

And what is most dangerous is the fact that there is no other America in the world to defend democracy. If Washington falls, the moral shield of the West falls too.

At a time when Europe is divided, Russia aggressive, and China on the rise, the price of this autocratic deviation in the heart of the free world will be extraordinary. And the Balkans, with all their historical and institutional fragility, will be among the first to feel it. For if Trump destroys American democracy, who will preserve ours? / Pamphlet
