Within three weeks, so many developments have occurred that have shaken the market and prices of key food commodities in the country.
From bird flu to salmonella to Brazilian steak, there are events that have shaken people's lives that no one is talking about. The price of eggs has increased by 200 percent and that of chicken by 100 percent.
A basket of eggs that did not reach 200 lekë two weeks ago today costs more than 450 lekë. Meanwhile, each unit of chicken is 100 percent more expensive. We are talking about products that are part of the basic food basket of the population and about which no one 'gives a thought'. The government is good, but neither are the oppositions who pretend to die for the people's troubles. Not a word, no protest, not even an analysis in the editorial offices of the major television stations.
This entire development seems to have been covered up by the salmonella scandal, which was caught in a shipment from Brazil, which was actually a scandal in itself.
A scandal that was carefully managed by the government to keep a development under the table, which seems to have created the egg 'operation', in a "controlled chaos".
At the height of the salmonella scandal, Edi Rama posts on his social network a meeting with the socialist organization of unit number 7. A meeting that has the head of the AKU, accused of the salmonella scandal, at the head of the table.
The character in question, Fatjon Pasholli, joined the Socialist Party 4 years ago from the ranks of the LSI electoral group, namely the lobby of the Ministry of Environment, which in Edi Rama's first term was led by Lefter Koka.
Accordingly, Pasholli began his career as a member of the inspectors' group.
At Rama's meeting, even though the salmonella scandal was current and he was facing the man responsible for it, not a word was said. After a silent management of this situation, Pasholli's resignation occurred.
Amidst this noise, there was also the issue of bird flu in several facilities, but there was no detailed explanation. It seemed more like noise than a real situation.
But what had happened during this time?
The US, through diplomatic missions, has requested European countries, as well as Balkan countries, including Albania, to provide a quantity of eggs for Easter, as America has a severe shortage.
The role of distributor in this mega egg operation has been taken on by the Veneto region in Italy, which is also one of the largest egg producers in Europe.
At this very time, we have an order from Italy for Albania to supply eggs from its production, and for three weeks, not a single egg from import arrives at Albanian customs, namely from Veneto, from which several supermarket chains are supplied.
Albania is thus entering an egg storage crisis, but it is an artificial crisis and not tracked at customs. It is even said that there is a request from above to send eggs to Veneto because the president of the region has called Edi Rama.
A joke that has been circulating for two weeks now, and as a result we have an 'American-style' price for a product that has become an anecdote in the US.
All this is nothing more than a panorama of our institutions that do not exist. After all, there are only phone calls from bosses, who channel an issue that in this case is in the pockets of citizens for their own interests. Who are torn apart only by the whims of a problem that is not decided by the free market, but by Imer Lala's Bablok.
This is not just a scandal, but a real mafia that imposes fines according to interests, that hides behind salmonella for a timely move. This is the mafia of political salmonella that makes Albania not a state with institutions, but a country of villains who do whatever they want with the lives of citizens.
