If Berisha had opposed Lulzim Basha, the DP would have experienced a normal division of forces, and the chances were that we would have had a strong battle between the parties that would have been in their trenches. There, a new energetic opposition could have been forged that would have produced a stronger political team.
But, Sali Berisha cunningly supported Basha, even though he knew, as he says today, that there was evidence that he did not have it in his favor.
On the other hand, people close to him were also told to support Lulzim Basha, because they could overthrow him whenever they wanted.
All the new politicians in the DP supported Basha, and then, when Sali Berisha clashed with him, they opposed Luli.
Naively, they thought that by supporting the doctor, they would take advantage of the vacuum that his tabula rasa could provide and replace those who had left.
In this way, they gave not only the DP, not only the opposition, but all Albanians the signal that in order to move forward, we must be "those who have the fortress."
An enslaving idea, which has not helped or brought any benefit to groups, parties, individuals or even peoples. On the contrary, those who have been defiant have been honored and respected forever.
Wasn't Gjergj Kastrioti an "adventurer" for his time who opposed the greatest power of the time? But he ensured eternity for himself and his name, and for Albanians yet unborn, the rise of a nation and state that no one had ever imagined.
Were not our Renaissance people considered the same, crazy and delirious. They almost had everything; money, power, wealth and all the good things. Almost all of them had positions and titles, from the Frashëri brothers, Noli, Konica, Fishta and Ndre Mjeda, or even Pashko Vasa. The sultans and viziers seduced them by telling them "stay with what you have, don't mess with the big guy, you have it all". And they chose to deal with "their miserable Albanians" who at that time were not even 800 thousand and were mostly illiterate and drowned by discord and disease. Berisha's support after he was declared Non-Grata killed all possibilities for a normal competition within the opposition, just as it has killed them within the Socialist Party, with the entire front in favor of Edi Rama every time someone has clashed with him.
All those who have lined up against Saimir Tahiri, Arben Ahmetaj or Erion Veliaj have dug their own graves. And this goes first and foremost to the SP senators, who have nothing to lose.
Those who choose to keep the old boss are digging a hole for themselves, as they do not know politics, where the most important axiom is that an enemy is kept closer than a friend, who is not worth anything.
It is different with the servant, who is used for the daily chores of every hour, thus turning into a limb, a tool of work, where a reasoning person has lost his being.
In politics, cause, battle, debate, and conflict are important, otherwise you choose to live your day peacefully, where the maximum is managing your family.

There are cases where in politics you are ready to die for a king or for a commander. Mark Antony was ready to die for Caesar and the Romans believed his speech after the treacherous assassination of the great general in the senate by Brutus and Cassius.
The battle of Mark Antony was a war of the heart, mind and human instinct. And Mark Antony did not win that battle because Octavian, cunning and heartless, came to the head of Rome. These crazy people today in the DP really think they will die in the arms of the Doctor, who has even been defiled to stay with them.
Berisha, like a classic primitive, trusts his family and tribe, he simply uses others, and in the end, as time has shown, he squeezes and annihilates them. Edi Rama does the same. Therefore, there is no possibility of there being a man to replace or renew the political class, since he does not have the legs of Mark Antony, who in the end did not choose power, but death with Cleopatra.
