The marking concession at a cost to citizens "1 lek for every one liter of fuel" will not be renewed.
The service, whose purpose was to guarantee the quality of fuels and prevent smuggling, will be managed by the state itself.
"In August of this year, i.e. next month, the fuel marking concession will end and the service will be transferred to the General Directorate of Customs. At the moment when this concession will end, we have decided that the fee applied by the concessionaire will also be removed. So, there will be no continuation of the application of the marking fee to citizens and businesses. The costs of continuing the service will be borne by the state budget, the Minister announced for the first time. Also, regarding the other concession, that of fiscal stamps, the Minister of Finance pointed out that for approval in the last plenary session, the one tomorrow, are the legal changes to remove the concessionaire from the provisions of the excise law, as well as for removed the concessionaire's prerogatives from this law. From January 1, 2025, this service will be under state management. Our intention is that at the moment this service passes into state management, lower rates will be offered than those applied by the concessionaire, which we believe will be easy for the business community" , declared Minister Mete.
However, it remains to be seen if this will be reflected in the price of oil in the coming months./ A2CNN
