Expert: Three reasons why the euro has gained ground in our country

Economic expert Teuta Nunaj spoke about the use and value of the Euro currency in Albania.

She stated that the use of the Euro currency is at high levels, while adding that transactions cannot be prevented 100 percent in informal ways.

Further, she also explained the reasons why the euro has gained ground in our country.

In relation to the policies for banning or impeding foreign currency, the expert said that the Bank of Albania does not have a commanding level. Therefore, Nunaj said that the policies for banning the Euro currency are partial.

"The Euro currency is coming in not only from the income of the citizens, but also from the high level of trade with the Euro currency, having large arrivals, this money has found more ground. The second is the freedom we have left to this money. Although this freedom has had strategies, it has not diminished. On the other hand, it is the dysfunction of the institutions in the indecision to slow it down. So there was a decision to stop the euro transaction.

The Bank of Albania does not have a mandatory level for the euro currency. There is no such decision-making, every type of initiative has a partial effect on the market, because the policies that are undertaken have 100% activity in the money that is formal. Knowing the high levels of informal money, these policies cannot be 100 percent successful.

Bringing in a large flow of euro money makes it difficult for the policies undertaken by the Bank of Albania to succeed. If I buy a property and the law obliges me to buy it in Lek, then the transaction in the bank will be done in Lek. 100 percent cannot be blocked on informal roads.

The field has been steadily gaining ground. Is this helpful? Use euros say. Analyzes and studies should be done in order to say that it damages the Albanian economy, if any", said the expert in an interview for ABC News.
