The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, during a press conference after the weekly Government meeting, announced the reaching of an agreement on social security between Albania and Poland.
Thus, social security payments (pensions) for Albanian citizens who have worked in Poland and vice versa, Poles who have worked in Albania will be recognized between the two countries.
This agreement, which enters into force after ratification by Parliament, guarantees the recognition and unification of insurance periods, so that citizens of both countries do not lose any years of work, and benefit from old-age pension according to legal age.
" The agreement between Albania and Poland on social security has been ratified, it is the 21st agreement of the initiatives that the government has undertaken with countries where there is an Albanian diaspora. It is the 10th agreement with EU countries, and these agreements are necessary especially for those Albanians who live outside the territory of Albania. The government remains committed to continuing with the ratification of agreements with all those countries where there is a diaspora present ," said Malaj.
As for Greece, Malaj said that they are still in negotiations. "These are intensive negotiations, we are confident that we will conclude such an agreement, there is a high intensity of negotiations and conditions due to the large number of Albanians we have in Greece ," Malaj said.
Next, the Head of Finance spoke about Fiscal Peace, which is expected to begin implementation within May, while the bylaws will also be approved.
"They are heading towards the final phase, very soon we will come up with the sub-legal acts regarding fiscal peace and the cancellation of obligations. We have discussed and negotiated with internationals about the sub-legal acts, very soon we will come up with the acts, within May we will have closed the respective processes", Malaj emphasized.
