On May 11, there are expected to be no surprises in the results because the elections were practically sold by Sali Berisha himself, who is the only crutch keeping Edi Rama in power.
We are still 5 days away from Yuri Kim's prophecy... The American ambassador appointed by Donald Trump in Tirana warned the Democrats 3 years ago that "if they go after Sali Berisha they will eat grass." The morning of May 12th could be one of the most difficult days for the Democrats and Sali Berisha.
However, these are two different topics.
First, the Democrats, on the one hand, do not deserve such a "magnificent" defeat because they spent 16 years on the streets and without hope, but on the other hand, they will reap what they have sown in these 4 years in politics. Secondly, Sali Berisha has not returned to the party leadership to take power but immunity.
He simply has to defend himself from this legal battle with justice with the alibi that he is being targeted as the opposition leader, although neither Non-Grata nor criminal files were opened against him as the party leader because at that time he was an ordinary MP and Lulzim Basha was the leader.
May 11th is expected to be without any surprises in the results because Sali Berisha himself practically sold the elections, who is the only crutch that keeps Edi Rama in power. The only debate that will take place on May 12th in the morning is: Will Berisha resign?
Referring to the statute of the Democratic Party. Article 46 point 8. “If, after the announcement of the results of the general elections for the Assembly, the Party does not result in a winning governing force, the mandate ends immediately and automatically due to the Statute. In this case, the chairman whose mandate ends is not allowed to run in the subsequent elections for party chairman.”
For these reasons, the "party constitution" no longer allows Sali Berisha to continue as party leader after his defeat in the elections. I remind you that this provision was adopted by the re-establishment to prevent a repetition of the "Basha" phenomenon, which lost several times and did not leave.
It is clear that Berisha will not keep his word and will break every contract with the Democrats. In fact, 10 million Albanians know what Berisha will do by not admitting defeat, but what is to be worried about is related to the thousands of Democrats who trusted him.
Losing the elections puts the Democratic Party in a historical fatality because it loses the mission of rotation. Meanwhile, Edi Rama has an interest in Berisha living for 200 years and not leaving, but also facing the 2029 elections. Berisha will open his bag of deceit because he will make a revolution.
He will not step down as mayor because he has his political and economic life in order with towers and businesses. Those who will suffer are 500 thousand Democrats. I am curious what he will feed his voters with until 2029, with Yuri Kim's grass or with the deception that we will have early elections and a technical government? In fact, eating grass is more dietary and organic than eating Sali Berisha's farts.
