This decision was not accepted by Berisha, his family, but also political and media supporters. And this is completely dialectical. How can these people support a difficult decision for the person that some love, and others owe? The point here is how an opposition does not take action from this attitude which is the basis of everything.
The excuse that Berisha has votes does not hold. Because if Sali Berisha resigns from political offices, the Albanian opposition will receive the same votes. Those votes that reject the SP are, have been and will be more or less on the same political line. For Sali Berisha personally, there are as many votes as he received as a deputy of Tirana in 2021. If Sali Berisha will ask for a referendum on how many Albanians want him to be the leader of the opposition, he can do it, but in the polls, Ibret Jalem comes out .
There is no relationship between the opposition voters and the character of Sali Berisha, because this is and should be the attitude that the opposition leadership should take towards Berisha. Currently, we know that this position is taken only by some young politicians who have not been in the DP. While others in Lulzim Basha's formation still think about a union, Basha even said it.
But how can there be union with a man considered unwanted by Albania's allies? This is really the debate that needs to be done, and in fact it has been done. It even happens every night. Berisha is loved by the people, they say. And which people when he comes out 70% against?
This is the real problem. Today, there is no opposition leader who bluntly states that with Sali Berisha, the DP opposition and its allies do not win the sympathy of the USA, Great Britain and the West. But there is a minority that says that even without the sympathy of the USA, Great Britain and the EU, Sali Berisha can govern. And with whom? With the opponents of the West: Russia and China.
