
Domestically, both the SP and the DP-ASHM suffered a drop in the number of votes compared to 2021 – the SP scored only a 4.5% increase in domestic votes, while the DP-ASHM almost 34%.
Now that the results of the May 11 elections have been officially certified, we can take an electoral x-ray of those results.
In these elections, unlike those in 2021, diaspora voters could also vote by mail. And the main parties conducted a feverish campaign in the diaspora to increase as many votes from the diaspora as possible.

With the help of diaspora votes, the SP managed to increase the number of votes by 11.5%, compared to 2021. While the DP-ASHM only slightly softened its vote share, compared to the votes received by the coalition's constituent parties in 2021.
Among the regions, Fier resulted with the highest percentage of votes for the DP-ASHM, while Kukës resulted with the lowest (see the table below).
