Dumani leaves in December, but does everything to ensure that his "wish" never leaves the building. Not in vain, every time he has wanted something, the head of SPAK, the courts and the KLP have meticulously implemented... his wish, not the law or the Constitution...
While the world held its breath for a new war between Israel and Iran, and the US exploded Iranian nuclear depots with precision surgery, another clash, equally "strategic", took place in Albania, the battle for power in SPAK!
No, this is not about any action against organized crime or billion-dollar affairs, but about a small, dirty war full of personal grudges, which is taking place behind the scenes of the "new" justice system.
Altin Dumani, the leader of SPAK who has his departure ticket booked for December, is leaving no stone unturned to guarantee that the SPAK of tomorrow remains anyway… Dumani. And as a start, he is trying to appoint the new head of the BKH, for a 5-year mandate. And as Albanian tradition likes it, not on merit, but on “loyalty”.
The election became a clash between Dumani and his former boss, prosecutor Arben Kraja. Kraja, who dared to vote against candidate Elton Kerluku and supported veteran rival Jon Keta, was punished mercilessly. He was immediately dismissed from his position. The message? Whoever disagrees with the "boss" is stripped of his institutional ranks.
But apparently, this act of revenge against Prosecutor Kraja was also a finger-snapping or subtext message to Prosecutor Behar Dibra, who according to evil mouths, would vote the same as Kraja. So, if you take off the "shoulders" of a respected Prosecutor in the institution such as Kraja, what can you do to a prosecutor known for his affection for goth? We will see in the following episodes...
Meanwhile, the procedure for electing the head of the BKH was postponed without any legal basis. The reason? Duman's candidate had… an incomplete file! But hey, what do we need legal papers for when we have personal desires, right? But as often happens in Albania, when there is no law, the "boss's desire" comes into play.
And as if that weren't enough, Dumani has also started building his dynasty within SPAK. The heir to the crown? Prosecutor Dorina Bejko. According to rumors from the long, marble-tiled corridors, she was brought to SPAK at the behest of Dumani and former minister Fatmir Xhafa. She stayed in command for a few months, proved her loyalty, and the KLP, as always in the "we decided to decide what they told us" version, appointed her with an "independent" decision.
So, Dumani leaves in December, but he does everything to ensure that his "wish" never leaves the building. Not in vain, every time he has wanted something, the head of SPAK, the courts and the KLP have meticulously implemented... his wish, not the law and the Constitution.
This is the new justice in Albania: with vengeful prosecutors, officers with incomplete files, "principled" votes, and "independent" institutions that are actually more dependent than ever before on the "boss"!
