The end of a political tradition created by Berishism

It seems that they no longer had the strength to continue the madness of Berisha's divisiveness, creating a gang of five people against cooperation with the government.

There is a detail from today's meeting in Shkodër of Prime Minister Rama with the mayors of Albania, which shows that Berishism is now a nuisance for Berishists as well. The meeting was attended by the five opposition mayors who ran under the Berisha-Meta logo on May 14 last year.

I know that for a normal country this is never news, since a meeting called by the prime minister has no reason to be rejected.

But for Berisha, this has been a standard for rejecting the government all his life.

In 2015, it was reported that the mayor of Përmet, newly elected at that time, went to a meeting with the prime minister and was massacred, so much so that he avoided going to the meetings called by the prime minister in the future.

Berisha was the creator of the creation of an alternative association of opposition municipalities, which thanks to him has been functioning all the time in Albania, having two associations, one official and the other led by opposition mayors.

In 2019, thanks to the idiotic boycott of the opposition, that association lost its function and was reunited with the normal association.

After the May 14 elections, Berisha again took the initiative to recreate the association with these five mayors. Embarrassed, one said my father is sick, one said I received the notice, three others went and pretended to form an association again. But they left it at that.

After that, it seems that they no longer had the strength to continue the foolishness of Berisha's division, creating a gang of five people against cooperation with the government.

Moreover, the five municipalities that Berisha has won are small municipalities, except for Kavaja, poor and hopeless, without the help of the government. Fushë Arrëzi, Mirdita Memaliaj and Puka are municipalities that are supported only by some government grant. Kavaja, which has more opportunities, is even more bankrupt than these, thanks to the mismanagement of the municipality.

So their decision to go to the meeting with the prime minister has more logical basis than political tradition. They have an obligation to cooperate with the government, moreover with a prime minister who is attracted to the violation of the political border.

But all this is normal and it would not be worth writing about this issue, if it did not mark the end of a parochial tradition in the cooperation between municipalities and the government.

He knows how he endures there at the top of the window, watching his chosen ones at a table with Edi Rama. But he knows he has no power to stop them and remains silent. It's one of those times when you realize it's more important to look like you haven't lost, than to complain about being abandoned.
