Supporters of the French head of state are still not able to digest the sudden dissolution that Macron did to the Parliament, plunging France into the unknown.
Some in his immediate circle now state without complexities that they have even decided to turn the page on Macronism. A pessimistic "end of the reign" atmosphere is felt in the Elysée Palace, as well as in the ranks of the "Macronists" according to the French press.

And like many other French people, they vacillate between bewilderment and incomprehension. "He is no longer the Macron I knew before," one of these loyalists confesses in an alarming tone.
"I can understand the intellectual mechanics of Macron, which led him to dissolve the parliament, explaining it with the embarrassment he felt that he did not have a totally free hand to run France with a non-absolute majority. But for him to take this radical decision right now, on the eve of the Olympic Games, I cannot understand this. This decision creates a monstrous mess in the country and provides a platform for extremes. Another loyalist of the first hours is even more critical: "For me, this can only be explained by the psychological aspect of Macron as the only key to a coherent reading of the decision he took. I remember that not winning an absolute majority in the legislative elections of 2022 put him into depression for six months. And the big slap he got now in the European elections gave him a brutal electric shock. If he loses this self-inflicted snap election again, God knows what could happen to him.

Indeed, in the French political landscape, the presidential camp is the one that felt the most and most painfully the shock of the dissolution of the Parliament. Even on that evening of June 9, when rumors began to circulate that the President would dissolve the parliament, few people took it seriously. "I don't believe it, they put it in vain, it would be suicide for our camp", said the Secretary of State, Sabrina Agresti-Roubache, when she heard about this rumor shortly after 20:00 on June 9, when the results of the European elections.
