Today, January 28, is the birthday of our great genius Ismail Kadare, the 90th anniversary of his birth, the second time we are commemorating him without his physical presence, who had divided the year 2024 in two, departing for eternity, precisely on the morning of July 1 of that year! Homer with his masterpieces "Iliad" and "Odyssey" of the Greeks, Confucius, with his four books of the Chinese, Virgil with "Aeneid", of the Latins, Dante with "Divine Comedy" of the Italians, Shakespeare with "Macbeth", "Hamlet" of the British, Cervantes with "Don Quixote" of the Spanish, Molière with "The Miser" and "Tartuffe" of the French, Goethe with "Prometheus" and "Faust" of the Germans, Dostoevsky with "The Idiot" and "Crime and Punishment" and Tolstoy with "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina" of the Russians, Mark Twain with "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" of the Americans, Rabindranath Tagore, with his incomparable lyrical poems of the Indians (Nobel Prize - 1913), etc., etc., remain eternal thanks to their magnificent work!
We Albanians as a nation also have the legal right to be proud of having Kadare, the Genius of European and World Letters, translated into over 50 different languages of today's eight billion-strong World! A refined and luxurious master of sophisticated allegory, he not only survived the Stalinist hell of Hoxha's regime like few others, but also spent decades in the fiery pits of red purgatory, until finally, in October 1990, he flew to the paradise of a democratic country like France. It is true that the jury of the Nobel Prize Committee at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences did not award Kadare this prize, but the very fact that he had been a serial candidate for decades like no other to receive it, clearly speaks to the fact that other reasons, apart from his great talent and his special style, full of dissident allusive philosophies of writing, led to this historical injustice, while this jury awarded this prize to the mediocre Dario Fó (Dario Luigi Angelo Fo), according to the Italians themselves, the American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman) with 11 pseudonyms, not to mention the Austrian of Slovenian origin Peter Hendke, the apologist of the Serbian genocidal Chief Butcher, Slobodan Milošević, who died in the Scheveningen prison of the ICJ in The Hague, over whose grave in Belgrade, he even shed tears while reading the obituary of this chief criminal!
Imagine, Hendke in his paranoia has gone so far as to claim that the Srebrenica massacre in Bosnia-Herzegovina never happened?! In fact, the half-hearted Hendke, in 2018, only received half the Nobel Prize, after he shared it with the Polish Olga Nawoja Tokarczuk! If the aforementioned colossuses, at the top of the article (excluding Tagore), were not awarded this prize, it is clear that this could not have happened because the prize began to be awarded only starting from 1901 (winner Frenchman Sully Prudhomme – René François Armand Prudhome), according to the Testament of the genius scientist himself, Eng. chemist Alfred Bernhard Nobel, on November 27, 1895, drawn up in Paris, who left his entire fortune of 1 billion dollars at the time (from $ 1 million to each winner, equal to 31 million Swedish kronor) in five fields: Peace, Literature, Medicine, Physics and Chemistry, while the Prize for Economics began to be awarded since 1969 with the special fund of the Bank of Sweden!

The award ceremony for this prize is organized at the Stockholm Stock Exchange Palace, with the exception of the Peace Prize, whose ceremony is organized at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, since then, Sweden and Norway were together! Of course, Kadare was not the only one among those who deserved this prize, but who were not awarded it, those who never explained the reasons why?! Tolstoy, Proust, Joyce, Kafka, Celine, Nabokov, Hasek, Moravia, Twein, Dreiser, Roth, Borges, Cortázar, Remarque, etc., etc. never received this prize, just as there were those who refused it! The first was the Swede Karlfeldt, who refused the prize in 1918, due to a conflict of interest (he himself was on the jury of the Nobel Prize, a prize that was awarded only posthumously in 1931, as a sole exception to date)! Boris Pasternak, forced by the Soviet Communist Party and State, refused the prize for "Doctor Zhivago" in 1958! Sartre also refused the prize on October 22, 1964?! George Bernard Shaw (1925) and Bob Dylan (2016), the only ones to have won both the Nobel Prize and the Oscar, accepted the Nobel Prize late, after long hesitation and strong retorts!
One might rightly ask: How would our genius behave if this great prize could be awarded to him by the Jury of the Nobel Committee of the Royal Swedish Academy, during the years of Hoxha's dictatorship, or even Ali's? I am deeply convinced that this personal "secret" of his, due to the very circumstances of the Stalinist regime, he did not confide in anyone, out of the many, many true and honest friends he had, except for the most precious person in his life, the wise, loyal, dignified and beautiful Helena!

E shkruajta edhe më sipër, që Juria e Nobélit në këto 125 vite qëkurse akordohet ky çmim, ka bërë vetëm një përjashtim nga rregulli strikt i saj, duke ia dhënë çmimin pas vdekjes, vetëm një shkrimtari, suedezit Erik Axel Karlfeldt (1864-1931), e ndoshta edhe pse ishte suedez! A nuk do të ishte me vend që po kjo juri, në nderin e saj ta bënte këtë përjashtim, edhe për një dhjetëshe shkrimtarësh të mëdhenj të kalibrit botëror, mes të cilëve, të ishte patjetër dhe pa asnjë mëdyshje, edhe gjeniu ynë Kadare?! Dhe kjo mund të bëhet, duke përgjysmuar në 10 vite rresht shumën 1 milionëshe (euro), si rasti Hendke & Tokarczuk, me ndryshimin e vetëm, se këta të dy e ndanë çmimin për së gjalli si fitues, ndërsa ideja ime është t’i jepet një të gjalli dhe tjetrit t’i jepet për trashëgimtarët, ose ndoshta thjeshtë si çmim, qoftë edhe pa honorarin, se në atë botë s’ka se ç’iu duhen paratë!
Vështirë do të ishte të gjendej një tjetër shkrimtar, poet, mendimtar dhe publicist si Kadare, ku sasia voluminoze e veprës madhore të tij të ishte si tek ai, në raport të drejtë me cilësinë e nivelin artistik të rrallë! Dhe këtu nuk ka se si të mos u jepet merita përkthyesve të shquar, si poligloti erudit, fin e luksoz Jusuf Vrioni, (burgosur politikisht në komunizëm), apo shtëpive botuese kudo në botë, mes të cilave, pa as më të voglën mëdyshje, do të radhistja FAYARD në Francë dhe ONUFRI në Tiranë, ku kjo e dyta, edhe për dy kolanat e veprës së plotë të tij, ku kjo e fundit, me kolanën shtatëvëllimëshe të saj, publikuar pak përpara ikjes së tij në Parajsë, është e nivelit më të lartë të botimeve botërore për kolosët e letërsisë! Dhe këtu do të ishte e udhës t’i japim vlerat që i takojnë Bujar Hudhrit, njeriut që i qëndroi më pranë gjeniut, jo thjeshtë vetëm si botues i veprës se plotë të Kadaresë, por së pari, si mik i mirë dhe i përkushtuar i tij për një çerek shekulli. Dhe në mbyllje të këtij shkrimi modest, nuk mund të rrija dot pa shprehur habinë time për një heshtje të çuditshme e të papranueshme, e po aq të pashpjegueshme që ka mbuluar prej më shumë se një viti e gjysmë disa medie të shkruara dhe televizive, rreth këtij personaliteti unikal e të paharrueshëm kurrë të Kombit Shqiptar, i cili ishte edhe një atdhetar i madh!
Ai s’linte rast pa humbur, të shfaqte dashurinë për Kosovën dhe trojet etnike shqiptare në Ballkan, si edhe të shfaqte gëzimin dhe lumturinë e tij, që ia mbërriti ta shihte Kosovën të lirë, të pavarur e demokratike, ku dha kontribut të shquar, ashtu si kish guxuar t’i shkruante dy herë letër Presidentit Amerikan George Bush senjor, pa u shembur ende regjimi stalinist dhe diktatura hoxhiste në Shqipëri! Kadare kishte, ka dhe do të ketë përjetësisht miliona adhurues mes shqiptarëve dhe në të gjithë botën, ashtu si kishte, edhe jo pak urryes profesionistë e të palodhshëm, në ligësinë e tyre patologjike, cmiranjosë, xhelozë dhe mediokër agrointelektualë! Por se kush ishte në të vërtetë Ismail Kadare për regjimin, del qartë, mjaft të lexosh dy vëllimet 1000-faqëshe të gazetarit të talentuar e pasionant, të palodhshmit Dashnor Kaloçi, ku në qindra dokumente autentike nga Arkivi i Shtetit, Fondi i KQ dhe MPB (Sigurimit të Shtetit), të aparatit të dhunës shtetërore e partiake në vitet e regjimit gjakatar të diktaturës së proletariatit dhe vetë diktatorit Hoxha, gjirokastritit tjetër, si edhe vetë Ismaili, nga i njëjti sokak i qytetit të gurtë, “Sokaku i të Marrëve”, por që ndryshe nga Kadare, Enver Hoxha ishte një i marrë prej vërteti, paranojak e delirant tejet i egër e dogmatik, apo me saktë një imitues i Stalinit, idhullit gjakatar të tij, edhe më kriminel se monstra gjeorgjiane, që sundoi në plot tre dekada në BRSS!
FAKTET
Po jap vetëm dy fakte të pakundërshtueshme dot nga askush: Në shtator të 1982, pa u bërë viti që kur e patën vetëvrarë KM Mehmet Shehu, u mbajt një Plenum i KQ të PPSH, ku aty nisën të bien kambanat e vdekjes për Kadri Hazbiun e grupin e tij, gjatë të cilit, diktatori duke tundur zinxhirin në podium, deklaronte paradoksalisht se jo Sigurimi i Shtetit, por Partia (nënkupto vetë Enveri), i kishin zbuluar të gjitha grupet “armiqësore” në vitet ‘70 – ‘80, qysh nga i pari, ai i ideologjisë me T.Lubonjën, F. Paçramin e I. Kadarenë, e deri tek ai i fundit, i K. Hazbiut!…. Po ashtu, kur zëvendësi i tredhur i tij Ramiz Alia, burri me zë gruaje, i tregoi atij plot entuziazëm në zyrë “Pashallarët e Kuq” (“Në mesditë u mblodh Byroja”) të Kadaresë, Enveri, qysh të strofa e parë filloi të vrenjtej dhe të e treta ndërpreu leximin, përplasi fletët mbi tavolinë dhe urdhëroi Ramizin t’ia verë përpara Ismailit mu..at që kish shkruar, e t’ia jepte t’i hajë, se ne e dimë i tha, që ai ka qenë përherë poet i reaksionit dhe borgjezisë?!
The first President of Democratic Albania, Prof. Dr. Berisha, was granted from the very beginning, the highest title, that of "Honor of the Nation", to two great personalities, Mother Teresa and Ismail Kadare, which he accepted with great pleasure, as he has emphasized several times, that the Albanian nation has produced three geniuses, Kadare, Saint Mother Teresa and the historic President of Kosovo, Dr. Rugova! Ismail, modestly later, refused to accept the multilateral consensual proposal of the political forces, to become President of the Republic of Albania, unlike Havel in the Czech Republic, or Zheljev in Bulgaria, as well as those dissident writers! Naturally, he had the fame of one of the most well-known and most appreciated writers in the world, and perhaps this fame, overshadowed him!
He won all the highest literary prizes in the world, such as in Britain, the “Man Booker International Prize” and the “Principe delle Asturias”, Spain, but also in Italy, where he won four of the main prizes, at the ceremonies of two of which, the “Kavur” and the “Flaiano”, I had the great fortune and honor to accompany Ismail Kadare and his inseparable life partner, the good Helena, in the capacity of Consul General of Albania in Milan. Likewise, France, specifically the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Jean – Michel Frederic Macron, awarded Kadare the highest decoration of the state, the Golden Cross of the Legion of Honor, (which has six degrees), created by Napoleon Bonaparte, since 1802! Therefore, for all that I wrote, Ismail Kadare, like the Genius Dante, of the “Divine Comedy”, will be inevitable for centuries and will remain eternally magnificent! More than ever and before anyone, Kadare must be given the honors he deserves, as a colossus of European and world literature, as a peerless democratic thinker and patriot, because his name and immortal work can never be forgotten by anyone, especially by those who live in the midst of the delirium of grandeur and protagonism!
