Without clarifying these issues, there is no point in keeping them in prison and investigating them. If it was just an intimate relationship, they don't need to be kept in prison, because we are not in Iran. The mayor received the biggest punishment by leaving office.
The problem is that it is not just an intimate report, but a staging to blackmail the mayor for political and personal reasons, which should be investigated and judged.
This is the only motive that justifies keeping them in prison. Otherwise, they should be taken out immediately.
