Those dissatisfied with the theater of protests

It's interesting that most of these suggestions and dissatisfaction come from precisely those who go to these protests...

There have been many people within the DP who constantly criticize the party for not toppling Edi Rama with protests like yesterday's. Some want them more violent, some more peaceful, some bigger, some more symbolic; some want a hunger strike, others want to enter the Prime Minister's office and set it on fire.

Interestingly, most of these suggestions and dissatisfactions come from precisely those who go to these protests.

The only one who is always pleased with these protests is Berisha. And when there are a thousand people, and when there are two thousand, and when there are five thousand, he gives the standard speech: "This was the biggest hurricane of democracy, over 200 thousand people were on the streets," and continues his rant.

Now, between those pessimists who criticize the protest by participating in it and Berisha, I agree with Berisha – despite the lies about participation.

Protests are Berisha's idea and political school. He usually calls them when he is in crisis within the party, precisely from these types who annoy him with suggestions and ask him to overthrow the government. Every time these increase, he calls a protest to put them in line behind him in front of Rama, and it works for him.

Of course, the protests are neither large, nor inspiring, nor threatening, nor credible enough to bring down Rama, but they are enough to tell those who annoy him: "youth in line."

Sali Berisha knows better than anyone that governments don't fall with such protests on demand. In 30 years, he has never brought down a government with them. On the contrary, he has grown politically when he was accepted as a party by the government and has moderated his positions.

He knows that Edi Rama will not be overthrown by these protests, but he does not intend to do so. In fact, such protests are the best medicine for Edi Rama in the crisis he is facing with justice and the battle against corruption, because they reunite the socialists around him when they see Berisha.

But for Berisha, the purpose of these protests is to prevent him from being ousted as leader of the Democratic Party. And that works for him.

The rest is theater.

Those who truly believe that these protests will not bring down Rama, but rather strengthen Berisha at the head of the DP, have no reason to go to these protests. If their goal is to bring down Edi Rama, they should fight for the DP to become a credible party to bring down Edi Rama.

If they want to strengthen Berisha so that he can be president forever, let them go to this theater of protests, because that way it benefits both parties: Berisha, who has a place to wave the flag in front of the flames, and Rama, who has a reason to tell his people: "stay smart, because I brought you this gogol."
