Only the dead are right! Only they no longer have interests and become slaves of interest, they have no opportunity to defend themselves or attack others, change their words and act differently, surrender to regret, testify their alternative truth or change their mind. By fleeing they leave behind the living who can do the exact opposite of their impossibility. In pursuit of interest, the living leave it behind, and may even kill the dead again out of malice, stupidity or dozens of other reasons. So it is for everyone and always in the relationship between those who respond to the call of life and those who have fled from it. This is case by case. And in the case of Egli Proga's death, what he says in silence is the only truth unchallenged by any of her alternative sisters.
His killing marks an absurd death, a tragedy brought about not by God, but by man's folly and the blind hatred of the moment. A human being, father of two and son of a devastated father, inconsolable brother and sister and ordinary citizen of this country, he deserves all the compassion and empathy of anyone who might be in his place in the same circumstances. He is a victim of the mentality embedded in Albanian society that the weak is to blame for his weakness. The other part is the distorted mirror where one sees an equally distorted portrait of the whole society.
Two constitutional powers, the legislature and the judiciary, were suddenly embroiled in a battle over who has done the wrong job. Pressured by the media, as the third peak of public power, apart from the author, the search for accomplices is done with enough noise to wake up the dead himself.
As if the entire scene of an absurd theater was not enough, where the coexistence between the hypocrisy of noise, hidden kindness and political calculation, the impatience to point the finger at the other and the scene of life in the province, in Tirana the record of the death of to the victim, fixed as written by forensic doctors; an exhilarating macabre that serves only morbid curiosity, that serves only the climate of poison and hatred that poisons with hatred the whole tragic and unfortunate event.
It seems that everyone is quick to say: It wasn't me! In fact, everyone, absolutely everyone, had their finger together with the fist of the fatal blow to an innocent citizen. All the architects of the political brutality over the years, all those who have created the cult of the useful strong, up to those who have accepted weakness and poverty as the greatest crime that an Albanian citizen can commit, are co-authors in the crime. The only innocent is Egli who ran away and others who are waiting for the fateful lot to fall on them. Sooner or later!
According to the principle that even murderers who are also victims, and victims who run away without understanding why they need to run away from this world, kill our illusion that we are building a just and humane society! But with a significant difference: the dead are never wrong, while the murderers must pay for everyone!
