A serious incident occurred yesterday evening in Saranda, where a Greek citizen arrived at the hospital emergency room without signs of life.

According to preliminary information, at around 10:00 PM, 48-year-old Pavllos Simeriontaxis, a resident of Athens, was transported to the hospital, unfortunately arriving without any signs of life.

Immediately after the announcement, police services arrived at the hospital premises, which initiated procedural actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Police sources indicate that a preliminary examination of the body did not reveal any signs of violence, while initial suspicions are related to cardiac arrest as a possible cause of death.

Greek citizen, 48-year-old Pavllos Simeriontacis from Athens, was in our country together with other people who belong to the Roma community and are involved in the trade of kitchenware.

They had been in Fier for the last few days for trade.

Yesterday they had been in Konispol and from there they were going to leave Qafë Bota towards the Greek state. Even before leaving, the 48-year-old did not feel well enough to lose his life.

This is the testimony of his friends to the police.

According to Saranda's white shirts, but also according to the 48-year-old's own friends, he had been suffering from diabetes for years.

To determine the exact cause of death, the body will be transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana, where it will undergo forensic examination.
