A serious accident was recorded this evening on the Pogradec-Qafë Thanë axis. The incident occurred in the village of Mëmëlisht, where a vehicle fatally hit a pedestrian.
The victim has been identified as Ilir Mimini, 55, a resident of Mëmëlisht. The driver of the vehicle has since fled the scene and police are working to identify and apprehend him.
"Around 18:45, on the "Pogradec-Qafë Thanë" road axis, in the village of Mëmëlisht, an unidentified vehicle hit a pedestrian, citizen IM, 55 years old, resident of Mëmëlisht.
The 55-year-old died at the scene as a result of the collision. The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to identify the vehicle and its driver, to arrest and detain the perpetrator of the accident, as well as to determine the circumstances and cause of the accident ," the police announced.
