A road accident was recorded inside the Llogara tunnel a few hours ago, where two vehicles collided with each other. It is also learned that several people were injured in this accident, who were taken to the hospital for medical assistance and are out of danger.
As a result of the collision, significant material damage was caused to both vehicles, while traffic in the tunnel was temporarily blocked.
" Today, on 23.04.2026, at around 17:20, a report of the accident was received. According to preliminary data, the first BMW vehicle, with English license plates, was driven by a citizen residing in Vlora. While the other vehicle, a Volvo, was driven by a citizen residing in Tirana.
Traffic Police forces, ambulances and fire services immediately arrived at the scene, intervening to manage the situation, assist the injured and ensure safety in the tunnel.
According to preliminary information, several people have suffered injuries and have been transported to the hospital for medical assistance, while the investigation team is working to fully clarify the causes and circumstances of the accident.
"As a result of the incident, traffic in the tunnel has been temporarily blocked, while authorities are working to normalize traffic and remove the damaged vehicles ," the police statement said.
