Journalist Esido Barkaj has shown details of the tragedy that happened this morning in Këlcyre. The tragic accident left behind 8 victims, the driver of the "Benz" and the 7 illegal immigrants he was transporting.
From the scene, the journalist said that the car was traveling from Përmet to Këlcyra. When the driver of the "Benz" saw two policemen patrolling the area on foot, he got scared and turned towards Përmet. The police services then notified the patrols, which followed the car.
Because the driver did not know the way and because of the high speed with which he was traveling near a bend, he lost control and flew 200 meters. The collision was so strong that all 8 died on the spot.
It is learned that the vehicle was rented in Shkodër, not by the victim, but by another person who was questioned by the police. According to him, the identities of the immigrants have not yet been learned because they received serious injuries and the investigators have difficulty identifying them.
