The Elbasan Prosecution has requested the security measure of "indefinite imprisonment" for director Petri Bozo, who fatally injured 7-year-old Algit Samurri in the village of Mengël.
The tragic incident occurred while the minor was walking to school accompanied by his mother, when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Bozo.
After preliminary investigations, the prosecution has approached the court with a request to impose the most severe security measure against the director.
The accident caused strong reactions in public opinion, while the minor's family members are demanding justice for the tragic loss of the 7-year-old.
In his first statement to the police, Bozdo stated that according to him, he was driving at a low speed.
"I was driving at a low speed because of the speed limiter, the 'cop lying down' on the road. I greeted a police officer who was there. Then I hit an object. I didn't see what it was, I tried to swerve when I felt the impact. When I got out, I saw the child," he said in his testimony.
Petri Bozo is suspected of speeding beyond the normal speed limit on the road he was passing, where he also had white lines and a "stretched police officer".
The "Blues" arrested him for violating traffic rules resulting in death.
According to witnesses at the scene, after dropping their daughter off at school, the mother and son were heading towards a nearby store. At that moment, it is suspected that the 7-year-old was separated from his mother's hand and was hit by a vehicle driven by director Bozo.
