The police today arrested one of the many wanted for the assassination of 2 years ago, where Shkëlzen Kastrati was killed. The latter was shot dead in his car.
In relation to the event, Albert Zaja was first arrested, who has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for the charge of "premeditated murder" carried out in cooperation. Meanwhile, Elson Xhečuka, Elmir Tufa and Silvia alias Roland Cara were being searched.
According to police sources, Elson Xhečuka is suspected to be the man who shot Shkëlzen Kastrati.
Xhečuka, according to the police, turns out to be the brother of Hektor Xhečuka, who was arrested in 2018 and then released from prison in April 2019, as a suspect in the murder of citizen Emiljano Boci.
The four people had separate tasks in this assassination carried out in January 2021, where two of them approached the target Shkëlzen Kastrati with a "Range-Rover" type car, shooting one of them.
While two others stayed at the exit of Fier in another car, waiting for the two comrades who shot Kastrati to come quickly. According to the expert report, Kastrati was shot from close range, causing his immediate death.
Searches for the capture of Tufa and two other persons, Xhečuka and Cara, have been carried out for several years by the police station of Vlorë and Fier, but surprisingly have not brought any results. But he was stopped today by the Operational Forces of Tirana.
