The arrest of the "soldier" of Čopja in Italy by order of SPAK, the police give details: He will be extradited to Albania

The police have reacted regarding the arrest of Klajdi Merkaj, who was handcuffed in Italy as part of the "Before Justice" operation.

The 35-year-old is accused by SPAK of "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity". Klajdi Merkaj cleaned the money of the brothers Franc and Hajdar Çopja, while the extradition to Albania is expected.

"As a result of the provision of information by specialized structures of the State Police, about the location of a wanted person on account of SPAK, and the exchange of this information, in real time, with partners in Italy, within the coded operation "Para of justice", the Italian Police arrested, with the purpose of extradition to Albania, citizen Klajdi Merkaj, 35 years old", states the official announcement of the State Police.

On 29.07.2024, GJKKO assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" in absentia. 

The conversations between Klajdi Merkaj and Franc Çopje through the "SKY ECC" application are part of SPAK's voluminous file on the criminal organization "Çopja", accused of a series of paid murders.
