The photo of Sokol Sinomati, known as the "boar", whose son Gëzim Sinomati was killed by a sniper, is published.
Sokol Sinomati was part of the "Gaxhai" gang in 1997 in Vlora, as he appears in the photo together with the other accused of this gang in the Court of Tirana in 1999.
"This is Sokol Sinomati in the dock with the Gaxhai gang in 1999 in the Court of Tirana", writes Artan Hoxha briefly.
Sokol Sinomati is convicted for the murder that occurred on January 3, 2000, where during an attempt to execute Sokol Nuho, he mistakenly shot Luigj Xhafa, a bystander.
In 2014, the Supreme Court then with relator Edmond Islamaj decided that Armando Sulejmani (Cipuri) and Sokol Sinomati - both soldiers of Gaxhai - should not be sentenced to life imprisonment as participants in the armed gang of Gaxhai, but should be finally sentenced on the charge of " Theft with violence" in collaboration, ultimately being sentenced to 16 years in prison. This decision led to their release from the cell, even though they were accused and convicted of another murder committed in Vlora, in 2002 in Skela, where Elton Tato died.
After his release, he left Albania in 2017, towards Belgium, where he again engaged in illegal activity and was arrested there in 2021, on drug charges. At the end of 2022, he was extradited to Tirana, for the incident recorded in 2002 in Skele, where Elton Tato was killed and Robert Boraku was injured.
