The police managed to identify and arrest the mother who abandoned the baby in a basement in the Yzberishti area of Tirana.
The woman, with initials EI, 29 years old, was born in Pogradec and lives on "3 Martyrs in Tirana" street.
The serious event took place in the Yzberisht area of Tirana, where the newborn baby was found abandoned in the basement of a building in Yzberisht.
Although it was initially declared that she was fine, it is learned that her condition has worsened and she is intubated. The baby was transferred from pediatrics to "Koço Gliozheni" maternity hospital.
Residents first heard crying and then found a baby in the basement of their building. Then came the police officers who sent him to the maternity ward, under the care of doctors.
"On 08.11.2023, in the basement of a building in Yzberisht, a newborn baby was found abandoned.
The Police Services immediately provided first aid to the baby, who was transported by the Police vehicle, together with the medical staff, to the hospital. The investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the event ," the police announced.
