The court of Durrës has left the three children of Pëllumb Meta in prison after they are accused of killing their father in the village of Saint Vlash.
In their testimony before the court, Hysen Meta, the son who initially took over the crime, as the executor, and then changed his testimony saying that his sister, Hygerta, had killed the father and not him.
Hyseni has stated that it was his 19-year-old sister, Hygerta Meta, who shot his father with a pistol, admitting that she was present when the crime occurred at noon on February 10.
"I didn't do it, let the one who did it speak. I was present and I saw it, it was the younger sister who shot him. Her father wanted to get her engaged. I didn't have good relationships, I was confused, we felt sorry for what happened to my father", said the 25-year-old.
Meanwhile, Hygerta also admitted the crime before the black squads.
In court, Hygerta Meta told the court about the conversation with her father before killing him.
"He told us he will kill all of you with tritol. Mom couldn't part with half of her wealth. Next time, my mother told us that he would kill us, while on Thursday, three days before the murder, I heard him say that he will kill you. Dad came from work. He was lying on his back and I took the gun. I told him and he wasn't surprised. He told me where he goes with the gun. I told him stand up and he said Get out of there. I was 2 meters close and shot him. The gun was in the drawer in the brother's bedroom. I knew the gun was there because I was cleaning. I didn't have a chance to ask my father", declared Hygerta in court.
Asked if she regrets this crime, Hygerta says: Yes, but it is something that cannot be turned back.
Hygerta has also spoken about the reluctant engagement that her father Pëllumbi insisted on.
She said that this debate started in December and claimed that her father was trying to kill her because she refused to get engaged.
"At first it was very difficult. Out of fear, I thought of leaving it to my brother. But he has not been present lately. There were 15 days before the event that he had returned. The debate had started in December. I was not interested in the engagement. And he didn't say anything to me at first. There was a problem at the gas cylinder. Because I was cooking there. Always. And because of my refusal to get engaged, he tried to kill me or my mother. At the gas cylinder, he cut the gas bottle and refused to fix it. After that he told me at the end of January to get engaged again. And then he told me you have no business in this house. He threatened me and my mother. He threatened my mother for an orange that he snatched it and said I will kill him", stated Hygerta.
The daughter of the family and the eldest son Hyseni are accused of 3 criminal offenses, as according to the accusation they are the persons who conceived and carried out the murder plan.
Hygera and Hyseni are accused of: "Murder due to family relations committed in collaboration", "Unauthorized possession and production of explosive weapons and ammunition, "Hiding or disposing of the corpse".
Meanwhile, the younger brother is only charged with the criminal act of obstructing the disclosure of the truth, because he helped transport the car to reinforce the alibi of the disappearance.
The young man told the courtroom that he had gone to the apartment on February 10 at 18:30, where he found his worried mother who told him about the incident.
"I was not at home when the crime happened. I came home at 6:30 p.m. I found my mother worried and told me; that they had killed their father. I had just come from work. Then we started to cover our tracks. I asked my friends for a car so we could make our moves. I knew that the father had conflicts with the whole family. Father didn't listen to us about anything," said Amarildo.
The youngest son of the family, Amaralido Meta, 22 years old, will be charged with "Actions that prevent the discovery of the truth".
We remember that only the eldest daughter of the family, married in Krujë, took part in the funeral ceremony of Pëllumb Meta.
The ex-wife of the deceased was not part of the funeral ceremony either, who was taken under the protection of the Durrës police.
The latter was afraid of any possible conflict between Pëllumbi's brothers and their sister-in-law, which is why she accompanied him to her father's family in Laç.
In a statement to the media, the director of the Durrës district police, Skënder Hitaj, said that Pëllumb Meta was shot on February 10 by the eldest son of the family with 4 bullets from a model 54 pistol.
He told the investigative team that he had planned the murder together with his sister Hygerta Meta, 19 years old, while the other 22-year-old brother helped hide the corpse.
