The prosecution has accused the victim's eldest son, Hysen Meta, as the author of the murder, but the latter, after initially admitting that he had shot the 50-year-old, changed his testimony in court, stating that the crime was actually committed by his sister.
Also, Hygerta Meta herself has claimed before the black squads that she was the one who killed her father by shooting him with a pistol, claiming that he wanted to betroth her unwillingly and used violence against them.
