40 kg of cannabis were seized by the police on the Greek-Albanian border after a "Mercedes-Benz" type vehicle was stopped in the Kozan area. During the checks, the police found and seized 2 bags containing 39 packages of 39 kg 560 grams of marijuana.
It is suspected that the amount of cannabis was sent from Albania to Greece.
The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Greek citizen, ended up in handcuffs. 2 mobile phones with 2 SIM cards and 140 euros were seized from him. The investigation is being followed by the anti-drug sector of Kostur and by the prosecutor's office of this city.
Since the beginning of the year, the Greek police have seized about 440 kg of marijuana, which is suspected to have come from Albania.
