Shkëlqim Lusha, 57 years old, and Eduart Goseni, 49 years old, are the main persons arrested during the anti-drug action of the Italian police in the operation of September 13, where 24 people were arrested. The two Albanians are suspected to be representatives of two families that controlled drug trafficking. The criminal network, according to Corriere Della Sera, has sold hundreds of kilograms of drugs in Milan and Lombardy. The 16 arrested Albanians covered the stages of the arrival of the drug in Italy and the delivery of the quantities in kilograms to the middlemen who sold them in doses on the market.
The starting point of the investigation was the arrest of courier Daniele Carra, 57 years old, in Switzerland with 5.9 kilograms of heroin, who decided to cooperate with the police.
" I started selling drugs in 2019 to earn money", he told the investigators, helping them with information to identify the group. Italian media quotes a conversation between Eduart Goseni and his mother Dëshira Goseni, who traveled from Albania to Italy, after the arrested courier started talking. "Work a little differently, don't trust anyone until you solve your problems... ", she advised her son.
According to the police, Eduart Goseni, in one group, coordinated the entire supply chain with the help of his parents and managed the logistics bases in apartments in Liguria in Cologno Monzese where he also had a processing warehouse. He kept the till, with accounts of debts and payments written by hand in diaries kept for criminal activity. In Milan, he also had a base of prostitutes exploited by the group, where girls were often raped and threatened to go with clients. The latter were blackmailed after they were photographed during intimate scenes and if they did not pay, the images were sent to their parents.
Eduart Gosen's group maintained relations with suppliers who guaranteed the supply of large quantities of drugs. The police have identified three of them, taking advantage of the messages uncovered on the encrypted platform "SkyEç" broken down in recent years by a team of French, Belgian and Dutch investigators. Two members of the wiretapped group say no one could play with Goshen when it came to drug shipments and payments. From June 20 to July 11, he collected 214 thousand euros.
The investigators also revealed the movement of dirty money which was regularly sent punctually to Albania, through transfer points or in the luggage of buses. The police identified a shipment at the beginning of July 2020 of 80 thousand euros for which Goseni paid one thousand euros to be sent to Albania. During the operation on Wednesday, 12 kilograms of cocaine and about 50 thousand euros in cash were seized. Only the part of the documented criminal activity, according to the Italian media, amounts to 544 thousand and 500 euros of profits for the criminal group.
Investigating judge Mattia Fiorentini has ordered the seizure of the assets of the gang members, among whom are 2 Italians and 16 Albanians, 5 Moroccans and 1 Tunisian. Shkelqim Lusha, although under house arrest, manages the gang's traffic from his base in a property company. He was arrested in the act on October 30, 2020 with 330 grams of cocaine.
