New details have emerged from the double injury recorded yesterday evening in Shkodër, where as a result the student of the Security Academy Gjergj Ndrshtiqaj and his brother-in-law Gjon Nika were injured.
The two injured are out of danger in the hospital of Shkodra, while each of them received two bullets in their body.
The latest details show that 106 bullets were fired at the wounded, on four automatic magazines.
After the serious incident, three Kalashnikov assault rifles were found in the burned vehicle of the perpetrators, while they were seized by the police as material evidence. Two of the automatic weapons that were used were found in the front seat of the vehicle, while the third automatic weapon was found in the trunk and is believed to be a spare. Also, the perpetrators are suspected to have been masked, while it is unclear from the footage of the security cameras whether they shot after getting out of their car or from inside the car.
From the cameras, it was not possible to make an identification because the perpetrators do not appear.
Meanwhile, the policeman Gjergj Medrshtiqaj had his service weapon with him, but he did not use it because he was unable to fight back.
The injured were shot as soon as they got out of their car, which caught fire from the many bullets. At the moment when the barrage of bullets started, the policeman and his brother-in-law hid behind their vehicle, while the third one, who was not injured, managed to get away in a nearby field, getting lost in the darkness. The perpetrators with a four-wheel drive vehicle without license plates allegedly followed the injured from behind and the latter, after stopping near a bar, immediately shot them.
The injured have expressed after being interrogated that they did not manage to see who the perpetrators were.
"As soon as we got out of the car, we heard gunshots. We have not been able to see who they were who shot us with guns. We don't have conflicts with other people and we don't know the reason why they shot us. At the moment when the shooting started, we moved quickly trying to escape. We stayed behind the car until they left."
According to police sources, the target was citizen Gjon Nika. Meanwhile, in Shkodër immediately after this serious event, the general director of the state police Muhamet Rrumbullaku arrived, being in charge of the investigations. It is still unclear what is the motive of this serious event. The police have escorted several people but have not yet reached the suspected perpetrators.
