New details have emerged regarding the failed robbery last evening in Tirana, where 5 masked and armed people, who after entering introducing themselves as the police, threatened an elderly couple to take their money.
The investigative group suspects that it is about the same perpetrators who robbed a jeweler in Kamez a few days ago.
We recall that the minor son of the Hima family, in Prush village of Tirana, became a hero for his grandparents, after he was able to escape from the robbers through a back door of the apartment and notified the police.
A patrol of two officers who were near the area, quickly arrived near the apartment. During the escape, 2 of the 5 robbers ran towards the hill near the village and started shooting with automatic weapons at the officers, while the latter responded with service pistols.
While the other 3 hurried to leave in a white Audi car with duplicate license plates of another vehicle. At this time, they bumped into one of the officers who tried to stop them and they managed to leave.
While fleeing from the apartment, the robbers also dropped the levers they had taken to rob, which were seized by the police.
The Hima family has a business that provides cart services. This is one of the tracks where the investigators are focused. A relative of the family says that the robbers may have been informed by a person who knew the family and the apartment well and knew that there could be money there.
During Sunday morning, the police escorted more than 10 people, but still have not been able to track down the perpetrators. Security cameras inside the perimeter of the apartment captured all the movements of the 5 robbers.
