The Traffic Police have put the spotlight on wrong-way overtaking, intensifying the monitoring of road axes through drones over the last 10 days.
The action was taken by the Operational Unit with the aim of identifying and punishing drivers who violate traffic rules, creating a risk of accidents.
As a result of this monitoring, 1,988 cases of wrongful overtaking were identified, for which administrative measures of 3,000 new leks were imposed for each violator.
Meanwhile, 367 cases of traffic violations on the roadway, including curves, convex intersections or segments with limited visibility, were also found. For these violations, fines of 12,000 lek were imposed and 10 points were removed from the driver's license.
" Wrong overtaking in the focus of the Traffic Police's work. Over the last 10 days, the Traffic Police Operational Unit has intensified drone monitoring of road axes, with the aim of identifying and punishing violators of the Traffic Code, mainly those who commit wrong overtaking, a potential risk for involvement in road accidents.
As a result of drone monitoring, 1,988 wrongful overtakings were identified and 3,000 new lek were punished with an administrative measure.
Also, 367 cases of drivers who have violated traffic rules on the road, including curves, convex intersections or other segments with limited visibility, have been identified. Administrative measures of 12,000 new lek and a deduction of 10 points from the Driving License have been taken for these violators.
