A 23-year-old Albanian man was found dead in a large blood trail in the parking lot of the University of Mathematics, in a scene suspected of being a fatal knife attack, with motives and circumstances still being investigated.

Hekuran Cumani, a 23-year-old of Albanian origin, was stabbed to death in one of the parking lots of the University of Perugia in the early hours of Saturday.
Italian media report that the prosecution is investigating the case as murder, while the crime is suspected to have been the tragic result of an argument.
The victim was stabbed in the throat, resulting in his death.
When medical personnel arrived at the scene, they could only confirm the young man's death from a stab wound to the chest.

After initial investigations and the testimony of several witnesses, it emerged that "a still unknown individual" hit the 23-year-old after an argument "for trivial reasons."

The mayor, the municipal council and the Municipal Council of Perugia express their deepest sorrow for the death of the young man.
“The news has shocked us all, as individuals and as institutions,” they wrote in a joint statement. “We stand with his family and friends, who are experiencing unbearable grief today, with love and respect.
"It is difficult to accept that such a young life has been cut short in such a tragic way. The pain of these hours extends throughout the city. Perugia stands with those who are suffering today and reflects, with sorrow, on a tragedy that deeply affects our community," they said.
