A 32-year-old man has been arrested by police in Tirana after he attempted to kill a 21-year-old man in Shkodra more than two months ago.
According to the police, the arrested person is citizen EK, 32 years old, a resident of the village of Grudë e Re, Shkodër.
He is suspected of the criminal offenses of "Attempted Murder in Other Aggravating Circumstances", "Disturbing Public Peace" and "Unauthorized Possession of Weapons and Ammunition".
The 32-year-old is accused of attempting to kill AM, 21, with a firearm on January 16, 2026, in the area called "Krzyqëzim i Vinoteka" in Shkodra, during a conflict for weak motives.
During the operation, EK, 27 years old, a resident of the same village, who was driving the "Audi" vehicle in which the 32-year-old was traveling in the "Fresku" area of Tirana, was also arrested. The 27-year-old is accused of "Supporting the perpetrator of the crime".
"Another phase of the national operation, codenamed "Operational", for the capture of wanted, high-risk citizens is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force. He attempted to kill a 21-year-old man with a firearm in Shkodra, the suspected perpetrator was caught and put in handcuffs.
The driver of the vehicle in which the wanted person was traveling in the "Fresku" area is also in custody. The "Audi" vehicle has been seized.
As a result of the rapid administration of information obtained in cooperation with the Shkodra Prosecution Office on the location of a citizen with a record of crimes against the person and illegal possession of weapons, as well as the operational actions carried out by the services of the Special Operations Force Directorate at the General Directorate of the State Police, during the operation codenamed "Operation 89", citizen EK, 32 years old, resident of the village of Grudë e Re, Shkodra, was detained in Tirana.
The Shkodra Prosecutor's Office had issued an order for his detention, for the criminal offenses of "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", attempted, "Disturbing public peace" and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
