A tragic event occurred this evening in Tirana, where a father stabbed his son to death. The incident took place in an apartment in Kodra e Priftit, where the 74-year-old father stabbed his son to death.

The crime occurred in the apartment located on "Ilia Shyti" street in the Kodra e Prifti area. According to the data, the father Hekuran Gjoni stabbed his son, Asim Gjoni, who lost his life on the way to the hospital.
74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni and his son, Asim, 37, were involved in an argument between them, which seems to have precipitated the use of a knife. The suspicions are that the 37-year-old son started joking with his father, which seems to have heated up the situation. And in the conditions when both were drunk, the father grabbed a knife and shot his son.
It is reported that both father and son were intoxicated. The suspected perpetrator of the crime admitted to the police, who escorted him a few minutes after the crime.

"On 01.02.2025, at around 18:50, at Kodra e Priftit, on "Ilia Shyti" street, in the apartment, citizen H. Gj., around 74 years old, hit his son citizen A. Gj., 37 years old, with a cutting tool, who consequently lost his life in the hospital.
Immediately after receiving notification of the incident, the Police services escorted the perpetrator to the Police Station for further action.
"The investigation team is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident," the police announced.
