A serious incident shocked Rrëshen this morning, where a person was shot dead near the police station.
The police director of Lezha, Alfred Elezi, has given details about the serious incident in Rrëshen, where Martin Bardhi was killed and three others were injured.
According to Elez, the victim was at the table in his bar, together with the three people who were injured.
The injured have been identified as Ilir Bardhoku, former director in the municipality of Mirdita, and Olti Gjini, owner of the nearby pizzeria, as well as Indrit Bardhi.
"Citizen Martin Bardhi was shot dead in his bar and three others who were at the table with him were injured. The perpetrators of the event are two masked people with an off-road vehicle, which shortly after the event, was burned in the village of Gëziq. Our services immediately went to the scene and where the vehicle was burnt. The territory is being controlled by all the forces, RENEA, the rapid intervention forces are controlling the territory and all the other directorates have set up multiple checkpoints to catch the perpetrator," Elezi emphasized in a statement to the media .
From the first information, it is suspected that the incident happened due to enmity. The 60-year-old had been released from prison for an incident a few months ago, where together with his son Enrik Bardhi, they tried to kill Saimir Reçi, the grandson of Kastriot Reçi, in the middle of the town of Rreshen.
In the meantime, numerous police forces have surrounded the area and with the help of the local Police, the "RENEA" and FNSH Special Forces have been dispatched, as well as checkpoints have been set up on the Nation Road, in the direction of Kukës, Laçi, Lezha and Dibra.
How did the event happen on March 26 of this year?
Initially, the two young men Enrik Bardhi and Saimir Reçi had a physical conflict and then Enrik Bardhi went to the apartment and took a gun to shoot his peer. Together with Enrik, his father, Martin Bardhi, went and shot at the armored car of Saimir Reçi, who, as a result of the shooting, lost control of the vehicle and collided with the road curb.
Before the gunfight, the two young men physically clashed with each other for passing a car on the city's main street. No one was injured in the shooting. The police, who immediately arrived at the scene, declared father and son Enrik and Martin Bardhaj wanted. Saimir Reçi is the nephew of Kastriot Reçi executed in 2020.
