
A 36-year-old man, suspected of recruiting foreign nationals for prostitution through online sites, has been declared wanted by Tirana police.
The latter announced that the 36-year-old had benefited from around 200,000 euros from this activity over the course of 1 year.
As part of the operation codenamed "Escort 1", the police have criminally prosecuted 16 citizens of Brazilian and Colombian origin, who practiced prostitution in premises rented daily.
The police seized 7,000 euros and 6 cell phones.
"The specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking of the DVP Tirana in cooperation with the DVKM Tirana, in implementation of the plan of measures aimed at cracking down on illegal activities related to the exploitation of prostitution, have identified and cracked down on a case, within the framework of the "Escort 1" operation. For this case, the following citizen was declared wanted:
MN, 36 years old, resident of Trana.
This citizen collaborated with foreign citizens to send them to Albania and then recruited foreign citizens from Colombia and Brazil for the purpose of exploitation for prostitution, using online sites. He carried out this activity in premises rented daily, which he secured through various agencies.
Work continues to locate and capture him.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further action," the Police announced.
