
A 42-year-old man with Israeli nationality and Canadian citizenship has been arrested in Tirana, after being declared wanted by the German Criminal Police.
According to police, the 42-year-old, identified as Roy Garin, was wanted by German authorities for repeated fraud.
Interpol Tirana is cooperating with counterparts to finalize the procedure for the extradition of the 42-year-old to Germany.
"The police operation codenamed "Operation 25" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force (FAST Albania).
The operation, a result of cooperation with the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and coordination by the international network ENFAST, resulted in the arrest in Tirana of a citizen accused in Germany of repeated fraud.
As a result of the rapid exchange of information between the Directorate of the Special Operational Force (FAST Albania) and the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (BKA), through the ENFAST network, the police operation codenamed "Operation 25" was finalized.
During the operation, the internationally wanted citizen, RG, 42 years old, of Israeli nationality and Canadian citizenship, was located in the area called "Paris Municipality", Tirana, and provisionally arrested, with the aim of extradition to Germany.
The court in Bamberg, Germany, has issued a detention order for this citizen for fraud, committed repeatedly, a criminal activity for which the German Criminal Code provides for a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. Interpol Tirana is cooperating with its counterparts to finalize the procedure for the extradition of the 42-year-old to Germany," the police announced.
