Police in Tirana have cracked down today on an illegal activity related to the forgery of educational and professional documents. During the operation, officers arrested a 51-year-old man in the Zall Bastar area.
According to the data, the detainee is Abas Tafa, who was previously a candidate for MP for the Euro-Atlantic Coalition led by Lulzim Basha.
The search of his apartment led to the discovery of a space specially adapted for the production of forged documents.
Inside this environment, police found equipment and materials used to create high school and university diplomas, including master's level programs.
Also, fake professional licenses were prepared there.
Authorities are continuing their investigations to identify other people involved and to determine the scope of this activity.
