Gentjan Bejtja, who was executed yesterday afternoon in his apartment in Fushë Krujë, had been friends with the chrome businessman, Iljaz Çali, who was also executed with a firearm on April 4, 2022.
In fact, Bejtja was the last person the victim contacted. Apart from the acquaintances between them, the threads that connect them behind the scenes and that have brought several victims so far are not known.
The show "Në Shënjestër", by Klodiana Lala, revealed some time ago the investigative file and the testimony of Gentjan Bejtja about the murder of Iljaz Çali.
"Three or four days before he was killed, I visited Iljas Çali's house with his wife and children. I talked to him constantly. I last exchanged messages with him an hour before he was killed. Iljasi sent me a religious video and wrote: 'Listen, these are big words'. I wrote him: "I'm at home" and sent him a photo from Ertugrul's telenovela. As Gentjan Bejtja would also claim, Iljas Çali had told him that he had taken possession of the mine again, but they had not talked for a long time. "He told me that 'I took the mine myself'. I learned the news of the murder from television. I didn't go to Iljas's funeral, because I wasn't friends with him and I didn't have such strong ties with the family."
His alibi for not going to the funeral of his friend, with whom he had family connections, did not seem credible to the investigators. It seems that he did not go to say the last goodbye to Iljas Cal, to avoid contact with some other characters from Nikla, who were in that burial, where, as Bejtja says, there are conflicts and clashes born recently. While the family was saying their last goodbye to their relative, on the other hand, the police continued to take evidence. The last person he had left to meet Chali on the night of the murder was a childhood acquaintance of his, but the meeting did not take place. While Çali was shot by a moving car on the secondary road of the Tirana-Durrës highway, he had cut off communication with his friend for a few moments, where the perpetrators are said to have followed him from behind and 3 cartridges were found at the scene.
"Ilyas was not guarded. He had not even shown any concern. I was constantly moving with him. We even let them meet together that evening, but I had to take the children to grandma's."
Although there is still no suspected perpetrator of the incident, the police are continuing to investigate several leads related to the execution of Iljas Çali, where the strongest lead on the crime remains the fight for chrome. A bloody war that must be said to have claimed many lives not only inside but above all outside the galleries. Where interests are even more present and have led to consecutive eliminations and rivalry that is producing blood and violence mixed with chrome.
Another clue is a conflict over a property, which according to investigators was interested in a much-talked about character of the underworld. The telephone contacts of the victim are being verified by the investigators, but as stated in the file, he spoke little and rarely.
But despite this, contacts with people from the world of crime, who are being investigated as suspects for the murder, have been discovered on Iljas Cali's mobile phone.
