A patrol police officer from the Korça police station has been detained by the AMP for being the perpetrator of the accident that occurred on the evening of March 3, 2025 on the Hoçisht - Bilisht axis.
Korça Police announced yesterday the accident that occurred on the "Bilisht-Hoçisht" road axis where a car hit a 28-year-old pedestrian while driving away, leaving the young man injured in the middle of the road.
Meanwhile, today AMP announces that Inspector Jurgen Rushitaj, acting General Patrol Officer at the Korça Police Station, has been arrested on his own initiative after he was the driver of the car that caused the accident.
As a result of the accident, the injured person was sent for specialized treatment to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
"The Police Supervision Agency (Elbasan - Korça Region) has on its own initiative detained the police officer Inspector JR, acting as General Patrol Officer at the Korça Police Station, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Failure to provide assistance", "Leaving the scene of an accident" and "Violation of road traffic regulations".
His arrest was made after on 03/03/2025, while driving his vehicle on the Hoçisht - Bilisht axis, he was involved in a road accident resulting in the injury of citizen D. GJ., and he left the scene of the incident without providing assistance to the injured person and without notifying the law enforcement agencies.
As a result of the accident, citizen D. GJ. was sent for specialized treatment to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
