Arjan Bllacaj was arrested by the Tirana police after he attempted to extort 200,000 euros from a businessman, pretending to be a high-ranking official.
The 42-year-old resident of Kamëz called the businessman Adi Haxhiymeri, owner of the Prima flour factory, on behalf of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliajt. As material evidence, 1 vehicle and 1 mobile phone were seized.
It is learned that Florian Gjergji, previously wanted by the Tirana police for the same criminal offense, is hiding behind this fraud scenario. Florian Gjergji himself turns out to be outside the country's territory, in Germany.
Florian Gjergji is a well-known name to the police, since about a month ago the 40-year-old reappeared in a similar scene of fraud with businessmen in Tirana, disguising himself as a high-ranking official. On September 29, the victim of Shkodran's fraud was the businessman Aleksandër Gavoçi, who was asked for the sum of 70 thousand euros, pretending to be the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
5 people were hired to commit the fraud, four of whom were arrested, Xhonatan Xhaferri, 24 years old, Leonard Xhika, 38 years old, Mikel Panxhi, 30 years old, a resident of Elbasan, and Petro Ferzaj, 51 years old, a resident of Vlora. Xhensil Qefa, 27 years old from Elbasan and Florian Gjergji 40 years old from Shkodra have been announced.
The scheme used is the same, using messaging apps. This was the 6th time that Florian Gjergji is wanted by the police for the same charge. His name appeared for the first time on January 10 of this year, after he tried to deceive the businessman Pëllumb Salillari, who was tried to get 130,000 euros, by presenting himself as a high-ranking official.
In February 2023, the owner of a casino in Tirana was deceived when they asked him for money disguised as the former head of the Cadastre, Artan Lame.
