The police of Dibra announced today that after escorting the suspect a day later, today (August 30) they disclosed the incident that occurred for the death of the 82-year-old SM, and arrested the 16-year-old driver as a suspect.
He also charged the victim's son, as well as the two nurses of the Health Center in Ostren, after hiding the details and dynamics of the event, selling it as a fall on the road.
The police said that the minor is being investigated for the criminal offenses of "traffic violation", "irregular driving", "leaving the scene of the accident", the victim's son for "actions that prevent the discovery of the truth". and the 2 nurses for "abuse of duty".
The accident happened around 23:40 on Wednesday, as the Police Station was informed in advance that "in the village of Ostren, the citizen SM, 82 years old, had accidentally fallen on the road and as a result of the injuries she died on the way to the Bulqiza hospital"
"Immediately, the investigative team was set up to verify and clarify the circumstances of this case", explained the local police.
As he further added dynamics and clarification of details:
"After in-depth investigations, carried out by the specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Crimes at the Police Station and the collection of all material evidence, it became possible to fully clarify the circumstances of this event, where it turned out that the 82-year-old woman, around 20:00, on 28.08.2024, was involved in an accident by a motorcycle driven by 16-year-old citizen LM, who left the scene of the accident after the incident.
PM, 56 years old, the son of the elderly woman, as it turns out that "he knew that his mother had an accident and did not report the case". As well as IK, 56 years old and HK, 62 years old, nurses by profession at the Health Center of the Ostren Administrative Unit, suspected of "not reporting the injuries found on the body of the 82-year-old".
