Three young men, Emanuel Kapaj, 29, Silvester Kapaj, 23, and Eremis Volaj, 20, have been arrested in Malësi e Madhe after they were caught cultivating cannabis in a mountainous area in the village of Fushë-Zeze.
It is suspected that the three young men, two of them brothers, collaborated to cultivate 561 narcotic plants in the village of Fushë Zeze. The cannabis was destroyed by the police, yesterday, by burning it.
The narcotic plants were planted in a public forest area in order to avoid detection by police forces. But the 3 young men have been continuously monitored since planting the cannabis, as they were noticed digging holes to plant it.
The three young men were caught during the operation on the road axis Tamare-Shkodër, driving around in two vehicles. While the two cars used by the perpetrators were seized as material evidence.
"From the investigative actions, it is suspected that these citizens collaborated to cultivate 561 narcotic plants on public land, in the village of Fushë Zeze, which were destroyed by the Police, yesterday, by burning them," the police announced.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Shkodra General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
