Donald Lushaj, who is serving a sentence after being found guilty of seizing 613 kg of cocaine in Durrës in 2018, has asked to leave the high security prison and serve his sentence in a regular security prison.
Arbër Çekaj and Armando Lushaj are also serving the sentence for the drugs that were found among 20 tons of bananas. They were found guilty of the crime of international drug trafficking.

We remind you that the narcotic substance was sent by container from Colombia, transiting through Italy, to Malta, and then arrived by ship at the Port of Durrës in Albania, on February 19, 2018. The cocaine was hidden in a container with a double floor, loaded with bananas.
The operation started during the evening of February 27, 2018, at the Sea Port of Durrës, when the legal cargo of bananas was taken over by the ordering company "Arbri Garden" shpk, owned by the citizen A.Ç.
The amount of narcotics was packed in 528 packages, wrapped in natriban paper with codes set by the traffickers.
The container, which arrived at the Port of Durres, was kept under continuous surveillance until it arrived at the company's warehouses, by the State Police structures.
Police services have surrounded the external perimeter of the object and then intervened inside the warehouse. After a detailed inspection of the container, it was possible to find and seize the narcotic substance.
