The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has accepted Xhelal Rraja's request for a change in the security measure, deciding to release him from the cell and assign him the measure of "house arrest".
According to the court's decision, Rraja will remain under police supervision and will be prohibited from any form of communication with other people, except those with whom he lives in the same apartment.
Xhelal Rraja was arrested in July 2024, after being previously declared wanted. He was remanded in custody as part of the SPAK operation "Revanshi", where he is accused of participating in a structured criminal group and providing the conditions for the commission of murder.
Rraja is known as the brother of former Socialist Party MP Rrahman Rraja, and his name appears in the wiretaps of the “Metamorfoza” file, where according to SPAK, he used a SKY phone with the nickname “H2”. The Special Prosecution considers Xhelal Rraja part of the criminal structures led by Durim Bami and Endrit Dokle, who are suspected of planning the assassination of former Socialist MP Arben Ndoka. According to the investigations, the plan to assassinate Ndoka was built in collaboration between these individuals, including Markle Haka.
Xhelal Rraja's name is also implicated in the violent incident that occurred in Thumanë, where two cousins, Jashar and Bilbil Maja, were beaten, an episode that later led to his brother's resignation from his mandate as a member of parliament. Although he was declared wanted after this incident, he was not arrested at the time.
Over the years, Rraja has been escorted several times by the State Police, but has claimed that the detentions against him were unjust, describing them as attacks instigated by personal opponents. In his public statements, he has accused the police of deliberate actions against his family.
A short time ago, the Police stopped Ramazan Rraja and Rexhep Rraja, the son and grandson of former MP Rrahman Rraja, in the Kodër-Kashari area, who were caught driving armored vehicles. At the time, Xhelal Rraja reacted publicly, denying that his son was wanted and accusing the police of unfair treatment.
